I have just recently started using Live 6 (I have been working with Live since Live 4)...

I noticed that the send controls on the return tracks are greyed out. How do I activate them so I can send audio from one return track to another?

I am on a Mac Laptop g4 running os 10.3.9

thanks

Control-click / Right click: Activate Send.

You can save your template set with the sends enabled if you like.

This new Activate/Deactivate option is cool IMO, because it lets you temporarily shut off sends without upsetting your automation. :D

right click, or ctrl + click on the send knob.

choose enable send, or enable all sends.

try right clicking on em (or whatever the mac equivalent is...). they've allowed us to disable/enable sends to save cpu.

oh man, i just realized this is the same with the sends on the channels too...
a dubmixers dream!
i always loved dubmixing on midas heritage consoles because you can set your level and switch the send on or off by pushing the pot (rotary pot/switch combo).
now i have a new use for the bcr push encoders.
bravo!!!!! :D

Hold up there, D K, I think the Activate/Deactivate is only accessible from the context menu, and not mappable to MIDI...

ya know, i have a console for that type of function. and i use it alot.
but i'd also love to see that in Live.

right now i just assign a key command with min/max values to the sends.

you could just assign a button to the send and then limit the min max to 0 and ?, if you want it to go half way up then put it to like max 60 or so and if you want it to go a quarter way up then put it to max 30 or so.
