Universal Clip Transpose control

I have a sneaking suspicion that it is possible to map a knob to the transpose of any currently selected clip....
How does one go about this?

same as any other midi. Ctrl-M, click the transpose knob in the clip properties and turn your real knob.
voila, any clip you select is mapped now

Is there any way to set midi control to transpose clips individually, not based on which one is selected-
So cc1 would control transpose on one clip, while cc2 controls the transpose on a different clip - meanwhile I have highlighted a third clip and I am changing things in its parameters without transpose being affected for that clip at all?
Cheers
Nick.

Hey Nickw,
As far as I can tell, no. All of the clip functions seem to be only available to the focused clip. But you could get a vst plug (i don't have a link handy, but they're out there) to adjust transpose and set one on each channel.

Just came across this yesterday working on some sounds and wanting to tweak transpose along with some other params. Assigned controller as usual and kept finding the wrong clips transposing as I worked with other clips. Is there really no way around this ie to use the standard 'fixed' assignment method? While I can see the occasional advantage of the setup as it is, I can see the daily disadvantage of it. Had a flip through the manual but couldn't see anything (not to say that it might not be there).
