Mac: Live 6.01 won't 'see' the ltmLAB 808 VST/AU plug-in

I was just wondering …
My friends Live 5.2 does see and uses the ltmLAB 808 drum plug-in which has been a free give-away with the CD of Keyboards magazine earlier this year. Both AU and VST versions are fine on his 12" PowerBook, but on my MacBook Pro running 6.01 I can't even find both AU and VST versions in Live's browser. I don't know if the plug-in is a universal binary and there is no website to check for--how can I tell if it's UB anyway, I'd really like to know. If it's not UB, would that be the reason why 6.01 won't accept it? I'm sorry but I have no other VST or AU host to verify on my MacBook Pro :/
Oh btw, I'm talking all Apple here!
Can someone please shed some light on this--I fell in love with that 808 for sure
