hmmm....

I wish to display visuals on a plasma display.
I like the way Arkaos works with ReWire, just wish to know if theres anything better available in terms of features and effects.

ohh dear sweetjesus, there are too many options nowdays,
you need to know what you want to do, beside launching clips wich is the simplest taskthat almost any vjing/visuals app can do, some programs performs better in some tasks and some in others, asking wich is generally better doesn't makes sense for me.

btw, in terms of features and effects vs. ease of use i'd go for visualjockeyGOLD(as usual), why?
275 native effects available, Freeframe compatibilty , it eats almost all the popular media formats, .3ds as well, it has MIDI IN AND OUT, fast rendering engine, really powerfull realtime audio analyzer engine that gives lot's of cool variables about sound elements, truly full flash 5 files interactivity, node based workflow, it's own graphic programming language(MANGLE), HD quality render exports, and lot more that i can't remember now, the only limit it's your fantasy and your cpus!

oh but not Rewire support.. 8O

VisualjokeyGOLD is out since a few months, i readed on their forums that some bits of Karma will be introduced in the the upcoming service pack 1 for vjoGOLD, not 100% sure, anyway the development of Vjo is pretty active lately, wich is great after the long vjo3.5 pause

talk about specs and features mates, saying that is good is not a value

Vjo has a crap interface, beyond common logic, I was puzzled by the stubborness of its maker until I saw on his own page he's a fucking hardcore evangelist, against evolution, and has some "proofs" that no species evolved, and god created everything as it is, humans are at the top, blah blah blah, a good laugh if you have a sense of humour. He hasn't.
He gave up the development of Vjo because, aged 22 or something he was only making 2000$ a month, and wanted more. A down (extreme) right cunt if you ask me.
So it's better to support cool people than VJo's extreme right wing creator.
