I just posted this on the Cubase forum:

Just got SX 2 last night and I am having a serious problem when rewired to Ableton Live that did not exist in SX 1.06.
When I start any song that is rewired to Live there is a loud digital zipper noise that lasts about half a second. Also, when I move the song pointer during playback, I get the same noise (again, only when ReWired to Live). Obviously, I can't use this in a "live" setting.

we're still waiting for our version of Cubase SX 2. That means, I cannot yet say something to that issue.

Where is the "digital zipper noise" coming from? From Live or from Cubase?

Thanks for the reply. I am assuming the noise is coming from Live because when I solo any of the Live channel strips in Cubase I can hear the noise, but when I mute the Live channel strips I do not hear the noise.
"Digital zipper noise" was the best description I could come up with!! You could recreate the sound by taking a loud high pitched sound and looping the first 5 samples for half a second in your sampler!

I'm also getting this digital noise at the start of the track, with Live as Slave to Nuendo 2.

Further, when I launch Live 2.1.2 after N2, I get an error message, something like "The rewire Master is not behaving as expected. Live will not work as expected, please check the manual for Rewire Problems"

I'm on Mac 10.2.6 and N2.01

I am getting the kind of the same thing, sort of a crackling/popping with playing Live loops. Also I can't play more than one loop on one track at a time.

I also tried running Reason as a slave at the same time and when both are running Reason sounds like poop too (where normally it sounds good).

Running a dual g5 with 1G of RAM so I don't think the issue is the machine....

Live 3 working great here, and Rewiring perfectly to SX 1.06, but still the same error message and bad behaviour with Nuendo 2.01

Anyone else?

Yes, SX 1.06 with Live worked great for me too. The problem is with SX 2.0, however, Steinberg just released the 2.01 patch which is suppoed to fix problems with SX 2 and Live. I will update this evening and report back.

Well, I performed the SX 2.01 upgrade.
My first launch of a SX and Live 3 rewired, I hit play and I got a terrible deafening static on my monitors. Then Live hung and I had to reboot. Not a good omen. I rebooted and this time everything worked, EXCEPT, I still have the bloody noise mentioned above.
Reluctantly, I'm going back to SX 1.06 for now.
