HELP! MIDI/Synch settings disappear and devices not found

Hi

Running live 5 under osx 10.3.9 and most of the time have no problems. However on a fairly regular basis I launch live and none of my MID devices work. When I look on the MIDI/Synch tab in preferences the active device list is blank and a rescan fails to find any devices.

After a reboot they re appear, but sometimes it takes several re boots before they are recognised.

All the connections are sound and the devices appear as acitive in audio/midi set up.

Midi devices are:
Mackie control universal connected via M-Audio USB Uno midisport
MC303 connected via M-Audio one by one and
M-Audion keystation 49e connected via USB

Also on a less frequent basis the MCU doesn't work and when I look in midi/synch it's listed as a control surface and the input is 'none', but when I check the list box uno mdisport is listed and when I select it the MCU springs into life.

I've tried swapping the cable around but still get the same issue no matter what combination I try. Anyone any ideas or suffer similar problems ?

Any help greatly appreciated

Thanks
