Oxgen 8 and native support problem in live 6

Hello all, I can t get my oxygen8 to work properly in the native mode.
I chose it in the preferences, I can use the Keyboard and I can use it as I
always did when I map it manually, but the automapping is weired.
For example, when I have a rack in one track and select it (the blue hand
appears), I thought that the eight macro controls would be mapped to the
eight encoders of the oxygen, but only encoder 5 on the oxygen moves macro
knob 7 in the Rack in live, the other do nothing.
When I select preset two at the oxgen, the first two encoders move
channelfaders one and two in Live, even if a Rack is selected. To me it seems
like the Oxygen is sending the wrong midi-data, but i am really no midi-expert.

I would be very happy if someone could help me to solve this problem,
because automap would be so great if it would work.
Or have I to buy a newer Oxygen or an Axiom? I hope not. :D

I've noticed the same thing also.

If we could just map them ourselves it would be cool.

I think there's a way to do it but I've haven't messed with it yet.

But messing with remote scripts is really NOT what we should have to do
when using Native support or Automap. In the prferences, live can
send data to a controller (but it don t let me do this to my Oxygen), and for
me it seems that this could solve the problem. Live sends an Preset to the
Oxygen, which means it tells what messages to send when you turn knob 1 for
example, and then Live recieves the right Data. But, for me the send data
button keeps being greyed out.
Oxygen 8 is so common, it should work instantly....
Is it perhaps because we have got an old modell (mine has midiman printed
on it and not m-audio), and the presets are different to the newer ones?
Because native support kind of works, but not the way it should?

I have exactly the same model like you (midiman) with the crappy keyboard

and thanks diemie. I'll check it out.

yeah, thanks diemie, seems like this could solve my problems, if i could
get my head round it, but this stuff is really complicated, and i just don t get it.
Can t ableton give us a file to send the complete preset-bank? I wouldn t
mind loosing old presets....

If you get it to work paradiddle, perhaps you could help me...

auto -map is not working for your oxygen 8?

at somepoint in time have you reassigned the paramitors that your O28 sends?

i'v got an old ass one, and it works great .. 1-8 assign with auto-map

I thought about this too, but can t remeber that I did this. But perhaps it happened accidently. Do you know how I can restore the Factory-Settings?
I can t find anything at the m-audio site because they have the v2 of Oxygen
now.

And a second Question: I tried to do my own mapping, according to the things
mentioned in the link from diemie, which looks very promising (if you want to
get deeper than automap) But:

I don t know where to put the file, and i don t know what port to enter,
or can i just fill in "usb"?
But that s a different Problem

only 6 knobs get mapped. Maybe because they were changed or something. I don't know.

Can you tell me the mapping on your oxygen Mike? the cc number for each knob if you have time?

Ok I got working over here. The knob 1 and 2 were changed.

it's midi cc 10 to 17.

If you need to change this (dr dub)

press midi-select then set ctrl, you should see a N on the display, then type in the knob number and enter. Then you should see a P. Type in the CC for the 1st knob and enter. You should see a C which is for the midi channel. So channel 1 and enter. Plus press midi/select again to go back to normal.

so just map them from 10-17 in order and it should work. At least it seems to work for me.
