don't know if i can offer any help for mac but mine arrived yesterday and i got it working straight away on XP - what have you tried? loaded drivers from CD etc (there was something in the manual saying you can plug and play with xp - don't know for mac, but it recommends against it) but i basically replaced my midisport 2x2 with the uc-33 - so no other midi i'f to confuse things
did you select the uc-33 as your midi input? might be a silly question, but i can see how it could confuse - all i did was install the drivers, then start live (3b6) go to prefs and choose the uc-33 controller 1 as midi input 1 uc-33 controller 2 as midi 2 and then press the 'MIDI' button at the top of the live screen to enter midi map mode then started selecting the parameters i wanted to control in live then touching the control on the uc-33 to send a midi signal to assign it, it was that easy - there's no presets for live, you just have to assign it yourself.
dont know if that's any help at all
have you tried anything else like SX or Reason? then you can use presets

right it some sort of bug in the drivers
i emailed evolution about it and they advised to reinstall the drivers
I did...and it worked first time...set up some sliders and had jam in LIVE...
then I restarted the powerbook
guess what ... it stops working
BOOOOO!
----
what was confusing me also...is it wouldnt work in OS X either when not working in OS 9.....this is really odd if its an issue with the drivers as OS X shouldnt be using the same drivers...should be like your XP... plug n play
ok I'm gonna try some things now i know reinstalling the drivers fixed it once.
I'll document my findings and hopefully evolution can update the drivers so they work all the time....
...i get the feeling by the fact they asked me to reinstall that theyre aware of the problem anyway.

nah, that's usually the first thing tech support tell you!
Amazing how often it actually works too! and rebooting a few times - no apparent reason for it, just sometimes you reboot and it works!,(maybe not in your case now though!)
well, at least you're making me not feel like i'm not missing out by not being able to afford a mac - i thought they were the plug and play ones?!

Macs are ok.
anything involving extensions/drivers and little progs like OMS can cause confusion and compatbility probs with people who dont keep a tidy computer...
anyway I solved the problem by downloading new drivers from the web site.
seems to be working fine now...just need to program the UC-33 now

yeah it is cool.
now i want another to controller the plugins...like EQ and natty FX.
and the sends channels
just controlling level, pan and AUx is not enough
just so many...haha.
well i have a prophecy that could come handy for more controllness...have to try it.

Man!
definitely get that prophecy going!

- alot of people just buy them for the controls these days!!
i think the thing to do with the UC-33 with live is to get used to changing the presets as much as using the knobs and faders - to have one for mixer - one for fx etc (just cos it looks like a mixer don't mean we gotta use the sliders for level!) that's what I want to start messin with when i get a chance - trying to almost get it playing like an instrument!
