Now that I've got your attention I need an answer to a simple question.

I'm producing a track in Ableton Live and it's great and all..

But the time counter thing only counts in bars?

So I don't know how long the song is... it's so annoying.

The time counter thing counts in bars.. that's so .. odd.

How can I get it to count in seconds and minutes so I can know where I am?

Even the most basic sequencers have this.

Dont tell me ableton doesn't have this.

I await your reply.

You need to change your preferences. Go to Options->Preferences->File Folder ->Library Folder-> set this to "Recycle Bin." If that won't work you need to reinstall your OS.

Crap it didn't work ruprecht. I guess i'm going to have to reinstall my OS.

I posted an insult in the hopes of getting a better response.

Last time when I asked curteously, no one answered..

So I thought hey.. let's see if they respond to this.

And guess what. Whether you were helpful or not you still posted.

Now seeing that this way didn't work either.

I'm off to another ableton forum. This one sure sucks.

.
in the future, use the subject 'my wife left me & I smoke crack'

you'll get around 15 pages worth of replies then.

the "my wife left me & I smoke crack" thread - 420+ views

this older thread - 180+ views , although the word 'faggots' will obviously turn alot of people off...still, 180 views compared to the scarce numbers some music/production related threads receive is worth noting too.

seeing as the wife/crack thread obviously wasnt genuine, its been scarce on the reply front - but I think my point has been made. Just scan the front page and see how many genuine threads about music related stuff are left by the wayside, and bullshit like 'my wife left me & I smoke crack' gets a huge amount of attention.

You can do it if you click your mouse.
I want to mention

Im getting an akai mpc 4000 to create tight fat sounding beats without a mouse and a screen in sight. Live will be used for recording audio or i might use garage band for that. Most importantly the mpc 4000 is a killer device and is for creative people that dont like mice
