The wavearts stuff is a necessity for me. I got the power suite and use it on everything. The range of options on the trackplug are really versatile and I personally think the compression (transparent and vintage types) are some of the best out there.
Can't go wrong with it!

Do you guys find the eq/compressors really that different from ableton's eq8 and compressors?
I remember a discussion here a while back about this and some power suite user, AdamJay I think, was saying how great the wavearts multiband compressor was, but that he thought the channelstrip and reverb sounded pretty close to ableton's
eq/comp and reverb.
What do you guys think?

i did say that.
if you want something that sounds truley different, look at Sonalksis Essentials.
both wavearts and sonalksis have extended demo periods.
demo both, buy whichever you like most.
but most importantly, use your ears. not your eyes.

Yeah, definitely try both demos (fully functional). the sonalksis stuff has a lot of character (as in tonal character) - so if you like that sound go for it.
I agree with Adam in that the wavearts and abe reverbs sound similar - EQ8 sounds a bit edgier to me though. as always it's really a matter of what you're using them on.

wave arts is a pile of shite and dont let anyone tell you otherwise. What character will a static cold plugin bring to your electronica cause I bet thats what your making? Zero nothing void.
I think you should sav eup and get an MPC 4000. Im getting one, are you jealous

trackplug is a unique design.....it doesn't really have a true "comparison"
a. The limiter at the end of the chain is allot like VW where some extra headroom can be achieved without all the usual cliping/dist problems in some other products.
b. The eq is very very easy to use......bump up those lows......and again with the limiter.....you get some nice "max headroom"........
c. The comps are good, but that isn't really the main attraction. The limiter/eq are the starts of the show........of course, your milage may vary.....
d. It really really easy on the cpu........
For a jack of all trades.......it's a beautiful addition to your arsenal
B
TW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If you have not bought it yet........go to DON'T CRACK software and buy it there........I think it's a bit cheaper.......and it's instant S/N
