Looping, transposing and recording it all

I'm a bit new to Ableton and completely new to the forums, so this will probably be my first of many poorly informed posts. Right now I'm recording with 5 and I love it, but there's something I'm trying to figure out how to do right now.
What I've done is taken a piano track I recorded and selected .5 seconds of it's audio for looping. I then take this one little piece of audio thats infinetely looping then apply transposition (spelling?) to it in real time. In other words, as the loop is playing I use my mouse to move the transpose level from 0 to whatever at a rythmatic pace so as to create a neat little piece of music. The problem is I cant seem to get Ableton to record these actions.
I'll hit record up top, then press play and do my thing with the loop for however long I see fit. Once I'm done I click the stop button then export the audio. The WAV that comes out however doesnt have my mouse actions recorded, it just plays the loop for however long I had it selected and at whatever transpose level the transpose was set on when I clicked stop. How do I make it so Ableton will record everything I do to it as I do it then save it in the appropriate WAV? CAN I do this?
