Thank you to all who came out this week. it turned out to be a great night with great performances. special thanks to jardin noir, EPS1, Substanz D and Submodern for laying it down so well again. this night seem to get stronger each week.
this week we had a question for our artists; is electronic music sexy. you can see what theri individual answers were here
http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fusea ... 1321215565
but needless to say we got some surprising and inspired answers as well as performances from this weeks guests.
october 25th is almost upon us. if you would like to come and share your electronic art with other bay area electronic artists and enthusiasts, just send me an email here at
[email protected] for one of the 8 45minute performance slots that are available. the time list and all other information is at
www.myspace.com/backlitloungesf
hope to see you there.

well, my obvious answer would be to show up and see, but the succinct answer would be that each week get slightly better. but this will probably never be showtime at the appollo. at best, it will be a place for like minded artists to gather weekly and share their music with others while getting to see what those same cats are doing, artistically. at very least...i get a place to perfect my live set before going back on tour in europe, asia and south america before next spring. either way, its always a good night to me.
remember.....there are only 2 types of people that go out; the ones that simply go to a party/event, and those that bring the party with them...

oh don't get me wrong I dig the vibe but it's hard to drive out that far for me, just wondering if there were any new faces to make the drive more worth while ya know?

that's cool. i know sacramento is a bit of a journey. right now, its very small. wednesday, we had about 40 peeps, which was great, but is probably not worth a hour+ drive. but we are working on getting a few "partners" that will definitely sweeten the deal and make it worth driving from further away than sacramento.
i will keep posting the videos and you should be able to gauge the progression from those. thanks for the continued interest.

40 people sounds awesome man, I don't mind playing for small crowds at all, even 15 people is cool, it's just that when I was there I think i was playing for 4 people who were on a couch in the back of the room

I don't mean to sound ungreatful for the few people who listened to my stuff I love sharing my music but it's just that if I'm gonna make the drive again I'd prefer do it when theres at least a couple of faces.
I think the all teeth and knuckles show with me will be successful, we are still working on a date for that. and blipvert wants in on it now, they are both sf natives, and I might be bringing fruitbat from sacramento. that would be a sick show.

the night was always going to be a slow build, but it is building and we've got a few things planned that will definitely build it ever bigger.
let me know and we'll get it all sorted out.

edit: DOH. I see this going on in S.F. not sacto. Sorry. Oh well, I'll let the post below stand.
glad to see something going on in sacto like that. I lived there for years ('89 - 98) and graduated from sac state as well.
Did a lot of kick starting the rave scene back then too. Now I'm in LA but I always thought it would be great to go back up there and play.
Does the rage still happen? Eventually the regular party to go to was Freedom when the parties got busted - and Scott and Justin behind Getta Clue was sorta the epicenter of rave/cultural folks. Those were heady times for us, back then.
Gong to S.F. on the weekends too.... ah, the memories.
