Mac only, I started using an Apple IIci for DTP, never owned a PC - but used a few.

Mac 11 - PC 6. Not the results I was expecting. I only started this thread cus im building a MIDI controller: http://www.ableton.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=50295

I understand pro people use MAC (Windows for home & office!) but I was expecting lots of ppl using windows with dodgy warez).

Guess ill just have to make my controller that good ppl move to windows

PC only. I have never had issues and everything runs smoothly for me. The only reason I would maybe get a Mac is so I can upgrade to the most recent version of Logic.
I have never used a Mac but was never interested as they didn't seem to be as powerful as PCs. Maybe things are different now. Are they?
As far as a desktop goes, I am pretty sure I will always use a PC because I use the Creamware Pulsar cards (3 of them) and apparently there are huge issues with running them on Macs. I love my Pulsar cards too much to give them up.
I almost bought a Macbook, but reading about the heat issues put me off.

Somebody (who knows a lot about computers) also told me to stick to what I know. That it would take time to learn a new operating system. I don't know how true it is. I have never used a Mac, so how hard would the change be? I wouldn't want to spend ages learning Apple. It took me long enough to get to grips with Windows at first.

I've had pc's since 95. Ok there not perfect but i don't think mac are either.

Im a solid windows guy for 10 years already...

since i was doing more music stuff....stability became an issue...

well windows was stable enough... but sumtimes... it wud really put me down...


now im a week old mac osx user... n im really impressed..=)

value for money with very good performance....

i wasnt scared of the issues since it was a big gamble n diferent experience=)

now im starting to enjoy a portable machine =) not just the music solution...
everything bout it=)

Use to use a PC now a Mac only but hey I can use Both on my Intel Mac if I like now which is a nice feeling to have the option

Mac "mostly", at the moment. Moving to a dual boot BeOS/OpenBSD for everything but Live soon, cos I like those better.

been with pc for 10 years till last year, when i switched over to mac. aint going back, but i have my legit reasons.

A lot of what you learn first time around is applicable to any operating system. There will be some learning curve and some time adjusting and 'unlearning'

true, as there'll even be a learning curve from xp-to-vista.

i admit it took me a month if that to get the hang of osx, and now both xp and osx are 2nd nature to me

Other pole is mostly windows, This pole is mostly mac, i call it 50-50.
