LINKING 2 PC's to play in time??

Basically I want to link my PC which another one to play together and mix live in real time. Both will have a keyboard and BCR2000. One PC has a M-audio Audiophile FW which has MIDI in & Out. I understand you use a MIDI signal to drive the other timing so one PC is a slave to the other thats driving. Apart from this what other gear will I need to get? does the other PC need the same souncard or do I need a bigger more specific 2 Laptop soundcard? and how do you do it?
I would be very keen to hear from anyone with information about how to do this.
Many thanks
Ian

Your need to connect them together by MIDI, either both pc's have MIDI devices installed or try MIDI over LAN:
http://www.musiclab.com/products/rpl_info.htm, if you do a search you might find a free one.
Then you send out MIDI clock from one PC to the other and they then play in sync.
Midi over Lan has full instructions how to use it with gigastudio, should be simular for ableton.
