-Ableton Live (Using a Macbook)
-Ecler Nuo 4 Dj Mixer

?

I know I cant just plug and play like that, what other equipment would I need to make a setup like that work, please and thanks.

you dont really need a dj mixer.
are you planning on using decks?

you might need some sort of control surface.

you might need a sound card.

I plan on using Ableton live and maybe my CDJs aswell, but mostly Live, so I need a mixer that can do both, but for the time being, lets assume I am just using this mixer with Ableton Live.

you CAN use the NUO4 to control Ableton

But you might need a secondary controller as well...depends on your preferance.

Get the NUO4, use it, set it up with your Ableton and if you feel you need an additional controller, then go for it
