Ableton Forum

I have tried to record in the arrangement window using the punch in method which presumably allows one to choose when to punch in and out and have a preroll situation happening. Unfortunately I can't get this to happen. Is there an issue here or has it changed?
What happens is that the record begins on the bar which is set to drop in without any preroll. When I deselect the punch in switch I get a 2 bar count in and the record starts on the drop in bar. Very strange and obviously a bug on Macintels?

I worked it out but it doesn't seem to be explained very well in the manual.
