I used m digi 002 without any problems with live 5. Performance was probably not as good as with a fireface or motu xxx but it worked. Now, having upgraded to live 6 and to a mac intel core duo, all my analog ins go immediately into the red even when the mics are turned off. Pro tools still works fine so I know there's no prob with the interface. And I've tried turning the dual core support on and off. I'm not running any plugins yet and I've encountered the same prob in live 5.2 -- the earliest version with intel duo support.

Please help; does live no longer support the 002?

i'm having the same problem right now and i'm losing money and work.

What version of Pro Tools LE do you have installed? Make sure you get the latest CS release from Digi's site. From what I remember there was a problem with core audio in ht first release of 7.1.1 and there was a fix in a later CS release.

Also don't try installing the standalone core audio driver if you have a version of Pro Tools installed. You should always use the version that loads with LE if you have it installed.
