Has anyone else had a problem with ableton not honoring their free upgrade to 6?
I bought and unlock 5 in september. when i try to get my free upgrade, the website says it costs USD 119 and when I emailed support they keep saying over and over "go to the store, it will be free" but it's always 119.

same here.
did you register your product seperately from unlocking it? my shrinkwrapped boxed store-bought copy had the orange sticker on it informing me of the upgrade before 10/31/06. i also read about the free upgrade on the website with no other trace of instruction or detail regarding executing the upgrade.
i have not yet attempted getting in touch w/ the company. what e-mail addresses, phone #'s, etc.. have you tried so far? we need to team up on this a.s.a.p.

Are you sure you aren't looking at the boxed version? It does cost $119, because it includes EIC -- EIC is not part of the free upgrade. I had no problems getting the free upgrade (download version), it just appeared in the store. I unlocked 5 in early august (I think).

are you sure you are logging in to the webshop? it says very specifically that if you want to see your upgrade options you MUST LOG IN to the webshop.

The problem happening to us had nothing to do with logging in. No matter what you try it just doesn't work. Sending emails to
[email protected] has been futile. I don't know what's up but the upgrade period is over and I sure hope they still honor my upgrade.

Hello,
The upgrade period is not finished: what counts is that you have unlocked you Live 5 serial betwen July 14 to October 31 to be eligible for a free Live 6 serial number. If you did not get an answer yet, it probably means the team has many issues to deal with, but you will get an answer.
Kind regards,
Amaury

Ah, ok. Thanks. i guess i read the copy as Oct 31 was the deadline to upgrade free, not the deadline for an upgrade. Good to know. i guess I'll just be patient now and wait for a response.
