hi there.

i'm running the following set up

amd dualcore 4400 processor
2 gig ram
rme fireface 800
cme bitstream midi controller

the sound glitches from time to time and then it will "hang" with a sound just looping really quickly for about 5 secs before the machine crashes.

any ideas what this could be caused by?

by the way changing the buffer size doesn't stop it happening :(

thanks

dave

same prob here - on Mac though! Dual G5 2GHz

Live 601 crashed seven times yesterday including audio popping and eventually the audio just disappeared a ciuple of times - had to completely restart.

I wasn't even using any third party plugins - just Ableton instruments and one audio file as a source for the audio clips.

Sent Ableton support the liveset just now, so maybe they will discover the bug....

until I get a new broadband connection I haven't been able to send the copius crash logs to Ableton

But just using Live 6, on a completely new Dual Core mac, with no other software installed, and no 3rd party VSTs it crashes frequently with alarming complete cutouts of audio that require a restart. Even GLITCHLIVE5 'just' crashed - this new version has also taken out my ipod which was attached at the time. Just a white screen that remained for about five hours then just 'returned to normal'

anyway…the logs will be sent soon. I would like it sorted out

Unfortunately I'm in the same boat- when Live 6 isn't crashing, it's glitching like crazy with very minimal projects, whether on a G5 or a dual-core Macbook. I have been sending my crash reports and log files. Hopefully Ableton will fix this very soon.

I get the same on my dual core Sony Vaio. Sometimes in pops and glitches and others it will crash. I did find it more stable if I disabled support for dualcore/dualcpu.
