Live 6 G5 Edirol FA101 complete loss of audio!

I'm having a bit of a nightmare with Live 6. It plays fine for between say 5 minutes and half an hour, then the audio drops out completely with no error message or anything. It works if I switch over to the Mac's built in audio, but to get any sound out of the FA101, I have to restart the computer. Ableton suggested it could be my Virus Ti or Lacie FW HD interfering, but the same thing happens with both disconnected.
I've gone back to using Live 5 which still works fine with the interface, as does everything else, so I guess it must be something to do with Live 6.
Anyone got any suggestions?!

dear nico
I've experienced exactly the same problem, at some point the sound starts to glitch and cut .
I found out that the culprit was the FA101, since I changed it but a solution when this happen is to cut the power of the fa and turn it on again (and don't turn off the rest) it was working for me.
let me know if it works for you.
but my advice to u is to get a good sound card like rme
peace

Thanks for your reply. The weird thing is that the FA101 is still working fine with Live 5, Logic Pro, Itunes etc, so it does look like it's something to do with Live 6. I never had any problems with it before upgrading to Live 6.
You mention turning the power off. I tried this and it does indeed bring the sound back, but only for a few minutes! Were you using power from the firewire bus or power supply?

my problems with the FA were with live 5 since I have my fireface I gave the FA to a friend, I was using external power supply.
So also I think that Live 6 has some crash problems , and for u it is Live 6.
The FA didn't crash my session, it would make a horrible stuttering and cut the sound, till I powered it off and on again.
I hope it won't happen to you.
Peace
