BFD needs plenty of RAM, I am running Live w/BFD + DLX and it's fine on a T2300 w/2GB of RAM. Works really well in fact, as the Live browser is great for loading the MIDI grooves into consecutive clips. On my destop I needed to upgrade from 0.5 to 1.5 GB to get it to work OK.

cool. I cant wait to get it. So I guess BFD is the best in the market before getting a real drummer huh?

Anybody try Drumcore yet?

I've used both. They both run on my G4 12" PB with 1.25GB ram and 1.5Ghz processor. BFD is more flexible, but Drumcore is pretty cool if you just want to use their loops.

I trigger BFD from a vdrum kit, so that's what I use most of the time, but Drumcore is nice to jam along with headphones to.

Hi, just a few questions:

1) What module are you using?

2) I'm planning to purchase BFD too but how do you actually link the module and BFD together so that it receives individual trigger signals?

To agree with what others have said, yes BFD works with Live. Hard disk speed is more important than memory - I only have 512Mb but a really nice 16MB cached 7200RPM drive and it worked fine for me. I do prefer the samples in Stormdrum, but the vintage kit (Radio something-or-other) from BFD was great for jazzy big band type stuff... :)

I thought there was an issue with live an "routing" where you can't just do the snaretop/snarebottom, crash 1, 2.....etc......?

If you mean the V-Drum module i use the TD-20 which came with my
kit and how i use it with BFD, is each of the drums in the V-Drum kit snare.kick etc. sends midi note numbers which is going into my Edirol UM-880 midi intrerface i then just program BFD to receive those same note numbers.
Then in live i set the individual outs from BFD to their own tracks so that when i play each sound is recorded on it's own track, it's a very flexible setup as i get the live drumming feel with all the editing features of using a computer 8)

how do you route the different kits to different channels in Live? Only the main and the room are seperated. i cant seem to get the other mics routed to other channels. The kits show up in Live and I can select them but no sound comes out! Any help?
