noise when switching absynth 4 programs in live via midi

if I click the box in the live vst window and select a preset/programm, I only get a little clacking noise as it loads, which I can avoid by muting that track for a moment.

however, if I try to switch absynth 4 presets in live via a program change message with my pcr 50, using the program increase/decrease function, I get a very annoying noise if the live audio engine is running, something like a beat repeat set to a high grid value. muting the track with absynth 4 on it doesn't help at all.

it appears to be cause by a cpu load spike as the patch is loaded. is there any way to avoid this? it kinda screws with my plans to use live live...

I don't see that problem. The only time I'll get any noise is if I'm holding a note when I send a program change, which is to be expected. Then, it's only a short buzz, and I'm not seeing the spike you're describing.

PC or Mac? What version of Live?

win xp, live6.

I get that, holding a note, too, but that's to be expected. it's odd that it happens even if nothing is being played on that track, though.

as I said, even odder is that it doesn't happen if selecting a preset with the mouse...
