i recorded a friends dj set the other evening as a clean signal, what i'm wanting to do is route that signal to a new track & re-record it this time with effects. i have a few too many things going on that would take forever manually clicking in every automation & i want to record the effects on the fly. i set up a new track & routed track 1 (recording) into track 2 (for effects & mixdown) now, i get the 2nd track registering track 1 but get twice the volume... i'm not sure if i'm going about this the right way, i hope someone gets the gist of what i want to do here & can elaborate.
i remember reading about dummy tracks for effects??
