i had a few. also. orange vododer...crap. and vokator.. could get sound out of it. but that's about it. and then i got a little deeper into reason. whowwwwwwwwwww.played with two nnxt samplers. and in between the vocoder. you can load al lot of samples in the sampler.and make a key destination. so that every key plays a different spoken voice. in the other sampler i put a super string. add some effects. and the sound is the best there is. and now im trying to put several samplers on a spider so maybe y can make the sound even more complicated. for the set up. just ask.....
how it sounds...vocoder reason and ableton

I still want one!
Meanwhile, g200kg has done a smart thing with his Vocov Vocoder:
Ha has alongside the Vocoder dll a separate sound capturing plugin.
Many vocoders may be tricky to use because of the routing for carrier/modulator signals.
Here, you simply choose which "capture channel" from the capture plug(s) to use.

Well...
I like things that are slim and effective. Vokator is a pro and interesting thing, yes, but I would more often like things that are more streamlined as part of the context (Live), and then you don't need a lot of built in effects etc.

Exactly how I feel! 9/10 times I just want to impose the spectral content of a synth onto another sound. Possibly with some added reverb or smear on the modulator.
If Live had a built in effect that fit in the rack with the controls showing and had an Ableton-centric way of routing the modualtor I would use it ALL THE TIME!

Yeah, +1 for a Vocoder, definitely!
