also Miroslav Philharmonik and Sonik Synth 2...

It is still unbelievable for me.... one of the most often used sampler and sound module can not be used with Live 5 and 6.

what is also very interesting, it is more than 14 months old problem!!!!

I have less problems than in 5.2.1 but it's not as it should be.
Reported so many times.
On 14 Nov, IK Multimedia, released version 2.2 of STXL even UB.
You should find it in the user download area. I cannot download it 'cause I own a lesser version that still does not have upgrades.

What about this?
http://news.harmony-central.com/Newp/20 ... pdate.html

It talks about better MIDI implementation and some improvements.
Bad thing if it is not for WIndows users.

I think PC users only have problems with Sampletank 2 and other sampletank engine VSTi

I cannot use ST2LE with multiple instance because is not the full version.
Are you using ST2XL with multiple instances?
Do you think that Live 6+ST2XL on Mac has no problems?

I think yes... Most of Live and Sampletank 2 users with no problems are Mac users

Sadly 6.0.5 and SampleTank still don't play together well...

Within an hour of downloading the new 6.0.5 (PC) version of Live, I tried (with fingers crossed!) to get a SampleTank 2.1 project going.

All seemed fairly well UNTIL i tried to delete a midi track that was pointing to another midi track with ST in it. Bam! Same "Serious Crash....program will shut down...." and so on message.

Surprisingly, it did not lock up Live immediately, but eventually after the program had become "unstable" the entire thing locked up.

Here's hoping for a fix one day; maybe from IK? Maybe from Ableton? Who knows....

yeh its still havin the same problem and its really pissing me off
i think they just don't care because this has been a complaint for over a year
I don't even use Ableton anymore, because i need my SampleTank. So i use a better one...

Sad. I stopped using Ableton Live for new song creation almost a year ago for the same reason. I just checked back in to see if v6 solved the issue.

Sampletank works fine in Cakewalk Project 5, and Reaper, BTW.

Sampletank Finally Works in 6.0.7 (for me at least)!

Sampletank 2.2 seems to be stable with the new Live version 6.0.7. I haven't tortured it to death yet...but had 8 parts going in ST, including a fairly large grand piano loaded up and multi-outs.

When I saw the press release about the tour/clinic of "IK Multimedia and Ableton Live" (http://www.tekserve.com/seminars/detail.php?id=837) I figured, "hey, maybe ableton and ik and playing nice together these days!" and that's when I discovered 6.0.7 was released.

So far so good, even though the change log mentions nothing about sampletank compatibility in so many words. KVR also has an announcement for a soon-to-be-released free update to SampleTank 2.5. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it still works.

For right now, I'm a happy camper and have my "workstation" back. (still considering buying Sampler.....one day when I am wealthy)

Thanks for posting - I have my fingers crossed. I'm still on 5.22 so I think I'll wait for the torture test. If you wouldn't mind posting back in a month or so with a reliability update, that would be great!

Will do...

I will try to remember to post back after much abuse. It's been about a week now and, thankfully, i'm spending more time jamming than posting about this bug!
