Hi people.
I finally got around to uploading new stuff to my myspace.

The latest track is called Datei, and it's a fast one - drum and bass meets Ulrich Schnauss if that means anything to you?
This is also the first track where I've used my new Roland HandSonic - most of the percussion is done with it.

entertaining, it changes around enough to keep my braincell interested.

my inevitable criticism.
I'm not too keen on the dx-ish bell-like tone of that initial chordal sound. It could do with sounding a bit more expensive, breathy, mobile, mm something. The noise is right, but it sounds too dx10 rather than super-jupiter.
(I never got over the 1980s)

If it was me in command of that section I would render a copy as a wave and do a sonically mutilated CPU intensive version to put beneath the existing version. Something with a wide stereo field that has depth, I think in movies they often use that initial moment as the time for the "production shot" and splurge a good proportion of the budget on it to 'wow' the audience. obviously it needs to retain subtlety to offset against the incoming onslaught, but with that in mind you could still make it more 'oooh'

So I'm saying, hire a helicopter and some smoke machines and do a flyby on that noise while cgi rendered wood nymphs cavort on top of it .



having said all that , I did like it. I'm just much better at being a picky bastard.

checked your tune out. the variations and changes are inspiring. i especially like it from around 02:50.

enjoying the other tracks as well.

You're right, it was the first sound I did on this track, and it just never got properly killed afterwards. It has been taken care of in the second mix I've just done

It's been thoroughly killed now, plenty of added zaps and bleeps throughout, and I've even done some high-end spread stuff on the track - thanks for the suggestions. I'll upload it soon.
