Ableton & Serato: sorry if this question bothers anyone, but

I've searched the forum and can't find a thing. I'm tired of trying to figure out why I can't record from Serato to Ableton. If anyone knows, please, please, please help. I can't get Ableton to pick up the signal.

set monitor to 'IN' on the track.
can you record other external audio?
is the hardware set up right?
I don't have it but doesn't Serato rewire into Live, is Serato selected as the input device in the track?
