now that we have play from RAM way we cannot reverse the playback of files. A MIDI assignable switch would be great. Am I the only one wanting this?

it shouldn't be too hard, now should it?
Max does it by flipping the polarity of the sampler "pulse" and feeds it a negative signal.. if we are indeed loading into RAM then we should be able to reverse samples..

Even if we're streaming from HD - shirley it's just reading the file from bottom to top?
I second this motion!

It seems like a no-brainer. I'd REALLY like this function!

Well,
I meant I want to control it in real-time - like having a loop and now I want to reverse the snare on 2.2.1 - I use my midi keyboard or the Clip envelope control this option. Would be fine. or messing around with the loop length in real-time - have online a single note looped and now trigger the reverse and back forward again.
To inverse the whole clip - that should be really easy - streaming or not.
Bes,
Steff

I'm dreaming about a reverse feature in Live, and I'm really happy to see that I'm not alone... Come on Ableton, do it !

all you people...i don't want live to be gummed up with a bunch of highly specialized features pandering to a few whiny "feature-liberals" while turning itself into just another bloated mega program that would be capable of total audio domination if it wasn't busy collapsing in on itself from a gluttonous weight of endless submenus and a gui designed by blind drunken chimpanzees.
no..i'm kidding...reverse would be awesome.
