I am a TECHNO purist.
When someone say "TECHO IS DEAD" like M&M.
I don't like it.
But that person live in USA and not in Europe
BTW;
I like loop techno (Collabs3000), mnml (richie hawtin like), techhouse, acid, detroit techno, techno dub (Maurizio, Basic Channel), chicago techno (like old tracks from dj rush, he lives now in Berlin) and also some hard techno (I don't like the words TEKNO our Schranz) .

I would imagine it is boring to some, people that just listen to it thinking "oh Drums in this one", these people think that good music has to have words, chords, verse, chorus, middle 8 etc etc.
Techno is a serious alternative, it is a completely different way of listening.
Sure i like other things, pink floyd, bob marley, jack johnson to name a few - but -
Techno is the only thing in this world i am truley addicted to.
Its on all of the time for me, even when im not physically listening to it, im thinking:
The Doctor - Orbital
Ignition Key - Adam Beyer
October C - Joel Mull
Floorshow - Surgeon.
I for one believe (because there are so many types of this specific sub genre) that people who dont like techno - just havnt found he techno they like.
I even have my mum listening to some.

techno seems to be going in two directions
minimal and progressive
the days of schranz and machine like noise techno aren't that prevelant on the shelves in your favorite record store these days
it's either really progressive sometimes on the edge of trance or straight minimal labeled as tech house or glitch
I appreciate both - but what's up with a good 'ole jack track?
oh well I still love it
peace
