I will try to keep up with questions, but what I can say is this is one serious contender in the arena.

Key features are, reasonable cpu use, excellent sounds/control, very stable, easy to use, and .....well......ADDICTIVE!

question, can u load your own samples(i see it says user on one part of the beats screen) and have the style of a certain type of music played with your drums....

also,
does it have drumming styles ala strike! ? (with more complexity less complexity etc etc.)

please explain if you dont mind....

this certainly may give strike a run for its money and can be used with Live which is better.

I'm not aware of being able to load your own samples, but I can say you probably won't need to. Between the FX that are included and the original sounds, you will most likely be pleased.

It's closer in quality to "jazz n funk" than the original bfd in that it's very responsive.

As far as strike, that's a different beast. However, remember; that can only run on PT systems. I ran this on my macintel and the PC with very simular results ( live )

how much is it?

I think 200ish, although that never got "locked" down. but it's competitive so certain....

I'm not sure which kit pieces will be included in the demo.....but it says it will be fully functional.

What will be great is being able to use the fx, I think this will be a deal breaker for some.

ya see, AD has the ability to have fx on basically every channel (all kit pieces, room, overheads, master.....) this includes a highly functional eq and comp and on the master there is a "tape" fx. This tape insert has a warmer and a low end. Frankly, I didn't fiddle too much with q's and such since this had a vintage warmer type effect (they give cudos to psp in the "about".......)

the snare/kick/toms/hat/cowbell have separate sliders. Now, the cymbals and ride do too....they just are not on the front control panel.....ihniw?

Oh yeah.....it has cowbell!

Looks very much like EZdrummer, what advantages does it have over that?

and i must say i am very ,very happy with it,the kits are fantastic,and yes
the ability to effect every channel is a surefire winner.
i dabble in most styles from guitar based alt rock to electronica
and this piece of software has all those lovely percussion sounds
i was missing(having searched the net for one shots of cowbell and nice tight snares with not much luck)so i will definately be buying the full release
i just hope they post up a demo soon for all u guys to check the quality

is it just say a 8 bar drum loop of each style , being able to replace the sounds with different kits, or can you do an option like complexity and velocity like in Strike!

So what's the deal with this thing? Is it one ultra-sampled drum kit with lots of tweaking/mic options, or are there multiple kits? also what's the price?

I couldn't find many specifics on the site, just some pictures and overviews.

this is pretty much what it does,only you can change every part of the kit
and it does have alot of beats,i prefer to do my own though.
it does have multiple kits, i think it has 5 dry kits and then about 30 others with fx and tweaking,the velocity sampling of the kits is really good.
i couldnt cover the comparisons with strike or ez drummer,as i have never used these pieces of software, i guess it can be used as a virtual drummer,i just dont use it that way, i use it for nice tom rolls and snare builds and of course the cowbell, i have had a nice post rock sounding kit out of it and a nice drum machine sounding kit and the funk kits are fantastic!
i dont think it has a humanize option but it doesnt sound to robot like anyway.
i am using mine with a mpd 16 in live 6 and it runs at about 10% during playback with the viewing pane open and i have tried bfd and that runs at about 50% and spikes like crazy

shoot, it says 'sampler' on one of the screen shots so it must at least be able to load your own drumsamples right?
