sync?

I have a RADIUM49 going into my MV8000. Midi cable from MV (output a) to input of my soundcard. If I load a vst synth (SAMPLETANK2), I can play SAMPLETANK with all the pads on the MV as well as the keys on the RADIUM. There is no latency issues. The problem I'm having is when I load up a SIMPLER channel (I don't yet have SAMPLER). After I assign say a drum a kick to the SIMPLER channel, there is quite a bit of delay when trying to record different drum patterns in the SIMPLER channel with the pads on the MV.
