In the last two weeks Live 6 has suddenly reset the audio - switching off the interface driver settings to Core Audio during performance 3 times.

We were playing full DJ clips, complex mode, also a variety of auxilary loops (mainly 4 bar perc loops in beats mode).

Live did not crash, but all audio output suddenly switched off during routine mixing. When we checked Preferences our normal settings for Output (Saffire output) were switched over to default Core Audio output.

We will test this further - but dont have an obvious cause (action) before this happened. The first time it happened we were a bit cramped for space in the booth and thought it might be a firewire or USB cable pulled loose.

Tonite it happened twice and all cables were secure as far as we can see. This is a regular residency so any help we can get before next weekend would be awesome.

Will email support tomorrow directly after we do some additional testing.

Live 6.01
Macbook Pro / OSX
Focusrite Saffire interface (firewire)
Novation SL controller (USB)
M-Audio Oxy8 controller (USB).

could it be a problem with your card and not live? my first instinct would be to blame the card, or at least to check the hardware and computer connection.

may want to check the card's power source, or where you're connecting it to. not sure this is the problem, but as a suggestion, it could be that there's a glitch in the power source where for a fraction of a second it stops sending power to the unit, turning it off and on, and by this, disconnecting it from your computer. it happened to me once.

That sounds about right - some power or other disconnection to the interface, thanks. We did a couple of things today:

- replaced all firewire / USB cables to new ones

- upgraded Focusrite Saffire drivers to 2.2 universal binary (they were not UB)

Tested for about an hour so far and it hasnt happened. We'll keep testing this week
