hi anyone can tell me which is the best free (or cheaP) piano VST to get a true piano sound (not electric piano, standard normal piano)

You can download it there. Theres no settings or anything to it, but for a freeware device this thing sounds great. Plus, if you know what you are doing you can get a variety of different piano sounds out of it just by subtle use of the correct FX plugins and EQ.

The free version of sample tank has a fairly good piano sound you can download for it.

One more:
I've been getting a lot of use out of the 'Balthor Grand' piano from the KVRAudio developers challenge. Mostly, I use a blend of different instruments depending on the part as they all tend to do a very few things well.

Not sure of your definition of cheap, but the Bosendorfer 290 piano is about $100. That's cheaper than a lot of plugins.

You're right, I just really like Ivory, and it is cheap compared to a digital piano...

I've recetly tryed pianoteq.
sound AMAZING
and most of all, it's using only synthesis (no samples at all), which means also saving a lot of disk space..

What computer are you on - I tried the demo of that plug in and I found it to be a major CPU HOG!! Sounds Amazing though.

try layering pianoteq with a sampled piano, the result is greater than the sum of the parts.

pianoteq is a brilliant concept, the touch sensitivity, sympathetic string resonance, damper noise, and the harmonic pedal are wonderful, but I think they are overdone on most of the patches and midrange sounds very synthetic.

layerd with ivory the result is awsome. you get the beutifully recorded samples of ivory plus a more realistic feal and more realistic pedal sound, etc from pianoteq,

the string resonance in pianoteq is a first for any synthetic piano as far as i know.

but what would be the best for general use?
say I want a standard piano and few other cool sounds like hammond or anything like that

??
