Key mapping?!?!

Hey guys - fairly new to the forum, fairly new to Live in actual fact!
Having spent a good few sessions trying to work this out as well as endless reading of the manual (which is rather well written i must add!) i was wondering if someone knows a little more about the key mapping shizz...
how do trigger the samples in the session view via the keyboard? I've assigned certain samples to certain keys ok, but i seem to get stuck at that stage....?
Reason i've got this problem is i'm trying to drum and play the samples at the same time...at the moment i'm using a very simple and unflexible sample player mainly because i've never really sussed out how to do this in Live....Any Ideas?
