create stutter effect

im trying to create a stutter effect (like a hot start on a cd deck, but more intense) click on link below for the effect i want.. "give me tonight vocal" it also has a brake on it.. check it out

didn't listen to the clip, but you can use the beat repeater where you control the grid and trigger the repeats with a keyboard key .. remember to set it to "insert" and chance to zero percent ..

buy a m-audio card and record the output in your present setup :D

sounds like bad boy joe...that bastard...always doin the cool stuff....

i would assume u can do it with the sampler...just sample the beginin and just use it like a instrument...thats wat i would do....

but im pretty new at live..so there may be a better way to do it

As has been said.. Beat Repeat or Sampler, even Simpler could do this.

In Beat Repeat set it to Gate or Insert, and mess around to get the desired effect.

Sampler and Simpler would be able to do it too, triggered by midi notes.

hey guys... thanks for all your replies.. i just got in from the weekend & im going to mess around with beat repeat & sampler

if you cut the clip up, and set it to gate with no quantize, you could probably do this just in the session view, without simpler.
