I would think that maudio will "step up" their line, but haven't heard anything. Would be nice to have something more highend soundcard wise for PT 7.3, maybe a better controller to truely work with live? Axiom is ok, but you dj's must be in hell over the crappy little tinker-toys available right now......
He's from the US. They have the same price problem that we usually have in reverse as Faderfoxes are built in Germany. This leads to people ignoring the units.wilxon wrote:FaderFoxARDJ wrote:i bought it and returned it. it felt like i bought it at toys 'r us.
there are not many strong controllers specifically for ableton yet.
The faderfox is not only the best alternative to the x-session pro, it is also the best midi controller for Live.Shoma wrote:Is the FaderFox the best alternative for this X-Session Pro?
They are the only mass produced controller that have been designed speciffically for Ableton Live.
And they have been designed very well
I went back and forth and back and forth and finally asked Santa for this one instead:

Slightly smaller footprint, slightly less cheesy looking. Does anyone have the Evolution version (looks it's going to be phased out in favor of the "Pro") and if so, what do you think?
As I mentioned in another thread, I might break out the soldering iron (run!) and try to convert a few of the buttons to 1/4" footswitch jacks.
Of course, what I really want is a Kenton Killamix Mini, but the price is just insane (especially for U.S. buyers.) The X-Session Pro does look like a toy, but it's hard to fault it at $99, if it serves its purpose. But I don't have my hands on a control surface all night either - they're generally on a guitar. I just need the surface on-hand to fix submixes etc when problems arise.

The Evolution X-Session is very decent. It's still plastic but it's the same width as a 15" laptop and "fits" nicely in a live setup.mbenigni wrote:Slightly smaller footprint, slightly less cheesy looking. I wonder if/when Danny MacMillan's Ableton controller will be available. If so, how much will this thing cost?
