EnergyXt is not free, but cheap. Available in save disabled demo - I think...
Racks in Live 6 has made it almost redundant to me, though.

there was one recently posted on here, i forget the name of it. It allowed you to freeze the vst, basically sampling it as far as i could tell. Maybe someone else remembers the name?

for vst,vsti hosts there is also chainer,and console--cheap. there's also a free one but can't recall. goto kvr and check the hosts page. energyxt is one that's worth paying for.
meef--was it discodsp highlife? that will do automatic sampling of vsti's for free. also direct wave by image-line.

funny!
i need the plugin (its gonna be energy xt i think) to be loaded into the highlife sampler (which is wicked!), so that i can load an vst effect after a synth so that effected samples are sampled by the highlife.
or do you know another workaround for the highlife sampler?

i use the demo of xt and it works just fine for my purpose!
