silly (maybe very bad) registration issue

last week i spilled some water on my powerbook. no biggie, except i can't use the "t" or "d" keys. I am only able to type by copying & pasting with iclip. anyway.
so i reinstall OSX to change my username/password to something without either letter, and had to reenter my live 6 serial. turns out, live 6 won't let you paste letters into the serial box.
so i'm writing a project for class without the ability to save. good thing i bought audio hijack pro awhile back
and no, i havent had time to pick up a usb keyboard. finals week
