Exact tuning of song tempo

Is there a way to precisely set the song tempo through automation?
I have figured out that if you hold down control, you get fine tuned changes in the bpm. But I always end up about .03 bpm off. It would be nice if I could type it in.

I have the same problem, and it seems that the way to do it is either a big secret, or there is no way to do it (or I am too stupid to find it)
so the simple question remains : I want to change (f.i.) the tempo from 100 bpm to 140 bpm, and not to 140.03 ... how ?

Have deleted my initial reply to the original poster because it seemed confusing. I'll try to be more explicit :
Sorry dat ik je in de war gebracht heb maar ik denk dat ik zelf iets over het hoofd heb gezien ... <dat zal me leren> ...
1/ If you want to increase tempo gradually while recording you just click tempobox and use <up/down> arrow : increments of 1 bpm will be added/substracted .
2/ If you have a prepared Liveset spanning several tempochanges you could do the tempochange as follows.
<Live stands still>
-Take the set you have prepared with the +/- tempo automation [ xxx.03 -you mentionned

]
- Put the startmarker in the arrangement on the breakpoint where the tempochangehappens
- Type the EXACT tempo you need there
- Click on record
- Click on play
Now only the automation of the tempo will be overwritten.
Hope this helps

yea, exact tempo editing sucks...
One workaround is to
1. Type the tempo in the tempo field and record it somewhere 'empty' in the Arrangement timeline. (simular to the above.)
2. Copy a bit of the tempo automation.
3. Paste at desired location...
4. Delete all the extra nodes around it.
