About Live, G5 and Panther

Hello all,

I didn´t had the time/possiblity to test panther myself yet but here are some more or less known issues:

- Panther and Live seem to like each other quite well

- A new G5 with Panther has certain default Systempreferences which
should be changed to get the best Live performance:
Disable all energy saving settings.

- Live fullscreen mode and Exposè: The F11 key won´t bring Live back to
normal screen mode. You can use the small arrow in the lower
right Corner (when Live runs in fullscreen mode) to get back (or the tab
key as usual to switch between applications)

- some users get the error when installing Live that they "can not write to
application support" folder. If this happens, send a brief mail to
[email protected] - this happens in some cases with Jaguar as well.

If you experience other problems, please contact us.

Best,
Christian Kleine

REgarding Expose and Live

I simply went to system preferneces and changed the way Expose triggers (corners as hot keys instead of F11) as I really like Live to control the F11-
works like a charm.

Panther is great-
Live + Panther + optimized hard drive from Norton Utilities= Fantastic!

Cheers

I have noticed a 10-15% improvement in overall performance (track count/FX) BUT in all fairness, I optimized my hard drive as well with Norton Utilities and this really helped (I run all off my TiBook 800 MHz internal HD).

I have another post/yopic on this issue in the forum.

Cheerio

Anyone tell me more why Expose is cool to use with Live? Or how to setup?
I use an Ibook G4 12"and need more faster ways to jump between screen etc..with this small space. Is this what I want?
Any tips for me?
