Fuck, my girlfriend knows more about synthesis than the clown with the microphone in the white shirt. Did they just go out and hire some punters to do this?

Discussing the oscilator:
"now you have your pulse width - that's how many times it goes back and forth".

"This is your source mix - it determines how much pulse width is in the mix"

"Sub oscilator - notice how down low it's really thin, very 8 bit... yeah, that's a good thing to have."

Discussing the low pass filter:
"It's not - generally - it's like... it's like a band pass filter because it has a rez"

"Can we mod the filter?"
"yes we can - uh, no we can pulse width the filter."

"Now you got your envelope (adjusts "A") The amplitude..."
"that's attack."
"Yeah, attack".

"Sorry, my brain's not really functioning"

The dude in the hat with the longer hair isn't TOO bad, but the whole demo is flushed down the toiled by the idiot in the white shirt ("Britton Wetherall").

Nonetheless, Mr. Hat also fucks up admirably, killing his credibility.

"I don't know if there's a control over the (portamento) time - it might be in the manual, but I don't read manuals"

Gah. Fucking retards. GEARWIRE: Fire these dimwits.

This is on the Music Thing blogspot site as well...

As I said over there, Yeah, it's real bad in a Wayne's World kinda way. They clearly don't know a thing about synthesis and they simply should not be reviewing gear. SCHWEETTT...

I feel bad for the unsuspecting soul who is looking for synth demos on youtube and unexpectantly falls upon these guys. That is, if you have the patience and restraint to make it through the whole thing.

As bad as the Sh-201 "review" is the Ableton Live one IS way more frusterating. I think they did one on the MPC-500 recently as well. As many terrible MPC "tutorial" videos I've seen I can only imagine this one will be the worst...

Something also tells me at least one of those guys in the video happens to post in this here forum as well. You would have to figure, right? My guess is it's Computo without the monitor on his head...
