Hi everybody. Does anyone know how to do an 'Live 5' uninstall on OSX 10.3.9.

I downloaded the most recent version of Live 5 but ever since it has been crashing all the time. I'm sure something must have got screwed up during the install. Does anyone know which files I have to remove from my system to do a complete uninstall?

Also does rewire in Live 5 seem a bit dodgy to anyone else or is my system screwed? Live 'unexplectadly quits' with alarming consistancy when I rewire into cubase sx 3.

Realy love the product but having some real stability issues.

There isn't an uninstall.

First of delete the app. Go into /Library/Application Support and /Library/Preferences and delete any files or folders which reference "Ableton" or "Live". Also go into /Users/<username>/Library/Application Support and /Users/<username>/Library/Preferences and do the same.

Once you finish, empty the Trash.

Then do a Spotlight search on "Live", and see if anything is left over. Make sure you emptied the Trash first, or all the stuff in Trash will show up.

This basic method works for "Uninstalling" pretty much any app in OS X.

BTW, this is one of those areas that REALLY pissed me off with OS X...."It just works"...."just drag the app to the trash to uninstall"......Frankly, it's blatent false advertising. But once you know where to look to find all the garbage, it's not too bad.

I've been testing Rewire for the current version of Live and also did alot of testing during version 5. There are big problems right now on OSX with rewire (Its not working well enough to use), but XP users seem to be fine.
If you look at my thread on Rewire Problems you might find some info that helps, as it contains all the info re:version 5 rewire problems. You should be good if you use the latest version 5 (.22?) and bad if you use version 6 (OSX Only).
I hope ableton will get it sorted out in the next update though.
