tempo changes in between songs

i want to use Live for performance... u know the usual acid jazz stuff... what i wanna know is, how do set the tempo changes in between songs.. i wanna put the songss all in 1 live set (if possible...)
please help... i'm here in Malaysia, haven't found anyone who uses Live for live situations here...

you can name a scene "XXXBPM" and it will automatically change the tempo when it plays

no, just name the first one and it should stay at that tempo until you fire another one with a BPM name

Not clips, just scenes. That's all the way to the right, in the Master column.
Just rename a scene to XXXBPM (i.e. "120BPM")

(so it was in the master column from the session mode, i tried it in the arrangement mode)

Yeah, in the Arrange screen, the Master column is just the _track_ names, not the _scene_ names

Sorry longjohns, but when I rename the track name in the arrangement screen it doesn't work!
What can be the mistake?

You can't do it in Arrangement!!!! Only Session!
You're not understanding the difference between Tracks and Scenes, and where each can be seen on the Live screens.

I probably should not bring this up and further confuse the matter, but
If you want to automate the tempo in the Arrangement screen, you do it in the tempo envelope of the Master Track.

I tried several times to make a tempo change in the Arrangement screen (with the same technique you said -> in the Mater Track) but I wasn't sattisfied about the "120,125BPM" I get with the pencil tool. So I hoped there would be another way to do it when I saw this topic in the forum.
For the future I will cut my Tracks in Arrangement screen and take them to the Session one.
(Sure I know the difference between Tracks and Scenes in the 2 modi, but sometimes it is not so easy to find the right words
)

Q: How do I set exact tempos with a MIDI controller?
Generally speaking, a MIDI controller will output 128 values over it's range of travel, from 0-127. By assigning a tempo range spanning 128 values, you can have your tempo changes be in whole numbers. By dividing or multiplying this range by powers of two, you will get tempo changes in increments of .25, .5, 2, 4, etc.
Other methods of setting exact tempos:
Temporarily define the range of the Master Tempo Envelope so that either the maximum or minimum value is your target tempo. Then by dragging a breakpoint to the max or min, it will end up exactly at that value.
Use recording punch-ins and the tempo value box to set tempo points and values. When you are in record mode, a tempo entered into the field will result in a tempo change breakpoint on the Master Tempo Envelope at the moment you hit 'enter'. After you have the breakpoints you need, you can delete any extra points.
