problem with a midi footcontroller. Help plzzzzz!

i got a question on routing a (Art x-11) midi footcontroler thru a korg microkontrol(usb) into live. When assigning a footbutton to record or play i only can assign 3 of 5 buttons. Also i do not see any midinumbers(like c1) just 1/PB, .PB and .PE. i can't find any eplanation to that.
When leaving the midiassignmentwindow and press a footbutton live doesn't react(means no record or play activated).
The footcontroller sends out midi 1-127, so i thought it should work like a midikeyboard.
I also changed midi channel to 2 or 3 instead of 1, but no change.
So what does 1/PB, .pb and .pe mean when assigning midi to controlls?
