Live 6 + Trigger Finger (stops working mid set)

Hi folks,

I recently bought a Trigger Finger for Ableton Live 5 and whilst it initially works fine, after a few tracks into my live set it will just stop dead. The music in Ableton will continue to play but its as if the Trigger Finger dies (none of the controls are responsive). The only way to get it to work again is by closing the software and starting again (absolutely critical during a live set in a venue).

I initially thought that upgrading to Live 6 would solve the problem and I read from other users comments that Engima is the key to solving the issue but I get the same problems with both :(

Can anyone offer any advice or is this an outstanding issue ... ?

My set up is as follows ...

Apple Macbook [Intel] (black) - Core 2 Duo (2Gb Memory)
M Audio Firewire 410
M-Audio Trigger Finger (USB)
Ableton Live 6.0.1
Enigma (bundled with Trigger Finger)

Thanks in advance

ever tried to disable the midi input from the trigger finger in the midi prefs of live while keeping the remote button on? So you don't play notes anymore, you just send midi events...

Not tried this ... are you able to offer more detailed instructions for how to do this?

I was suggested that a new USB cable plus a power supply for the Trigger Finger would cure this - I have been out today, bought both and this has not cured the problem :(

I had the exact same prob...

Changing usb ports and uninstalling maudio driver and reinstalling one device at a time fixed it.

Thanks for the advice, but it seems you are a PC user and I am a Mac user, I followed the threads and people still have the same problem as me completely unresolved :(

Many thanks for posting the link tho :)

Couple things. Sounds like you're losing power to the Trigger Finger, and it's dropping out of the MIDI list in Live..... which begs me to ask why in the hell did the Abes change the behavior of the MIDI preferences? It used to be that a device could be plugged in after start up, and be recognized.....

Do you plug the Trigger Finger in? if I remember it's self powered, but you can run it without a power supply.

Do you have the laptop, and trigger Finger on the same power strip?

If neither of these work try a decent powered USB hub.
