I set Live to record from the input "LIVE IN" and then record anything from my inputs. I then stop Live from running and click the edit button in order to edit my sample in my sample editor. my sample editor says "cannot open file because it is already being used by another process." i have tried 3 different wav editors and they all say the same thing. Then if i try to exit and Live asks me if i want to save the recorded samples or delete them. If i pick delete then it says it cant locate the files. None of these errors occur if i record from the Live input, Reason using Rewire.

Hi JEREMY W
I cannot reproduce the problem.
Could you describe in more detail what you did?
Which version of Live do you have?

I have version 3.0. I recorded from a microphone using the soundcard Input called "Mix Post EQ L/R". then i stopped playback and clicked edit. then my wav editor gives me that error.

If i delete the clip and then drag the clip from the browser to the clip slot, I can edit it fine. So I can edit it after reloading it.

yeah, I have the same problem trying to use asio4all on my laptop
wavelab gives me the same message about not being able to play the file, because the sound card is tied up
it works if I choose the wdm driver in live, but who wants terrible latency
