Recently pulled out several of my old analog synths(midi'd) to set up using my AMT-8(usb) and Novation Remote 61SL to use with Live 6.

I am wondering if anyone here is using a similar set-up.

I'm having problems getting the Remote SL to talk to the AMT-8. All the channels are seen in Lives Prefs for both units.

I have the Remote SL connected via USB to my Mac Pro. Wondering if I need to directly connect the SL61 using the the midi out to AMT-8 midi In.

Should'nt they communicate through the computer via USB?

I downloaded and installed a Unitor/AMT driver I found on-line. Not sure if it matters that I'm using an Intel Mac. Does'nt seem to help.

Also checked Audio/Midi utility and AMT8 appears but is greyed out...driver issue?

Please let me know what Midi ports both In and Out you have checked off in Prefs.

Any and all help greatly appreciated.

I have a RemoteSL and a MT-4 (same drivers as Unitor/AMT) and did not have any problems. Although that was on a G4 iMac and not an Intel Mac. Have not tried the MT-4 on an Intel Mac.

As long as the AMT is greyed out in the Audio MIDI setup, it can also mean that the drivers are installed but the device is not connected/powered. Did you try another USB port?

I occasionaly use the MT-4, with my intel mac. It has never appeared for me as usb device though. It just gets power from it and operates like a standalone midi hub/merge box. I have to route the midi into something else in order to get it into my computer.

The most "recent" drivers from Apple don't make a difference. Discontinued...
