arrrghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

1/i will be playing a set or launching clips and suddenly the play back will
start making lots of clicks - like a fluttering of a butterfly - i mean it just occurs randomly - i ve tried buffer size etc - no reason - it just will kick in when it likes -

2/BUT TONIGHT - suddenly - in the middle of working on a set - all my device and instrument presets have disappeared - i go to the list, click on the arrow next to the name of the device or instrument to get the drop down list and nothing - for any of them - they were there earlier today !

3/ i was using a Lexicon Omega (it died recently and is in repair) i now have a Motu traveler (which i use for studio) and bought an Edirol UA-4FX (for dj-ing with)

- a common problem i have with them all is that when the audio interface is selected in ableton I cannot import Mp3 into ableton without it disabling audio and I cant even launch the clips. i also often have to force quit ableton....!

I have to select the internal input and outputs when i import Mp3 - then save the set self contained - close the set and reopen and select my Motu or whatever audio interface im using, to be able to play the set

i have emailed Ableton support about this problem when i was using the Lexicon and they could nt find an answer and said that it must be the Lexicon. Now it is happening with the Motu, so i suspect i have something configured wrong with the Core Audio.

ok

dont know why but for no reason i know of the library path got bored and went on a walk about - found the presets but not after some hassle

i looked for them in spotlight - eg - typed in beat repeat in spotlight and clicked on it - abe message came up telling me it could nt be opened as it was created in a more recent version ... mmm.. really - i doubt seeing that this is version 6

restarted the computer and browsed for the original file path and they are back - phew

i understand that there is a bug fix for the problem of live crashing when mp3's are dragged in

now then - the fluttering crackling noises that appear spontaneously - get that sorted and i´l be happy
