I can;'t seem to install atmosphere dream synth.
it keeps crashing my Live 6.. I tried an endless number of times...
the installations ends up correctly (it seems) but then when I launch Live it just doesn't work anymore, doesn't receive midi input, becomes slower and all sorts of things...let alone atmosphere the only thing of it I could see is the interface...

I AM SOOOO FRUSTRATED!!! I have a number of VST even quite heavy ones like battery and so on and NEVER had such problems..
the guys at spectrasonic can't help...gonna ask for a refund! can;t believe it!!!

any suggestions?
I have celeron M on a windows XP pro with 512 ram
thanks

I run Stylus RMX, Atmosphere and Trilogy without issue so it must be something unique to your machine. I'm running a G5 Mac, are you on PC or Mac?

I have a PC.HP pavilion with celeron M
I run Ableton 6.0.1 with no probs and have tens of VST's
still there's no way I can install Atmosphere without having Live 6 crash
I tried 3 times and always same result...doesn't work and crashes live 6

any ideas?

If you only have 512 megs of RAM, I would strongly suggest maxing out your RAM. Atmosphere is RAM hungry. Even if you return it, you'll see a nice performance jump in LIVE with more RAM.

I'm running Atmosphere in Live on XP Home, should still work ok with only 512Mb of ram. Saying that, if you're running with a Celeron and 512Mb and a slow laptop hard drive, performance is definitely gonna suffer.

One thing that might help - uninstall Atmosphere, defrag your drive, reinstall it. That could help a little. Beyond that, I wish you luck!

already did that...the problem is not that it works badly..it doesn't work at all!!!
I am seriously thinking about going to Zebra2

doesn't atmosphere come in vst and au? I'd try deleting one or the other to see if one of them works and the other doesn't, maybe if the vst works but the au was the problem then you could just live with using the vst only, or vice verse

That must be those new au's that run on windoze machines

Agreed. I've got 4.5GB of RAM with Dual 2.7Ghz processors and have never even had a hiccup. 512MB of RAM isn't nearly enough and with the cost of RAM being so cheap these days, max out your PC.

I'm on a Powerbook with Live and Atmosphere but I did have problems until I updated to Live 6.03

Maybe give that a shot.
