IS there any way to arm an audio track automatically by clicking on a slot(with modifier keys)..and auto disarming when the recording is stopped?
instead of arming a track individually first and then selecting a slot.
I read something in the manual that gave me the inpression this is possible...by clicking on a slot with a modifier key....but I cant get anything happening...
Anybody know if this is possible and how?
I'm on a Mac osx

interesting post! i wanna know that, too.

another question is: is it possible to record on the fly with resampling-function without manually hit the stop-button after recording? i mean, can i defining, how long a audio-clip gets recorded and then automatically stopped?

in an ableton dj-set i wanna be able to record short sequences of the running set with the resampling-function and record it in a new audio-clip and then the clip gets automatically stopped after for example 1 bar.

now, i do this all manually.......it works, but there has to be an easier workaround.

so far as i know, you can't pre-define loop length (i wish you could). but by using quantize, you can just double-click and the loop will go from record to play after the quantize length is reached.

ok, thanx dj superflat. i'll try this method.........

but it's a bit a shame you can't do that in ableton. you can do that for example with a korg kaos pad 3 and even with the worsest mixer on the world, the djm-600er.........he, he... :?
